We used to publish Google Ads on this website using Google Adsense.
Over time the revenue decreased and never reached the payment threshold.
Some time ago we removed the ads to clean up the website.
More recently I received this email

You have received this mandatory email service announcement to update you about important changes to your AdSense product or account.
After problems logging in without a mobile phone & unable to contact Google by post or email,
I contacted BBC Spotlight, who also could not contact Google.
 
I was finally able to log in using someone else's mobile phone number,
but still unable to contact Google, so took the following steps:
1. Verify bank account for payment
2. Close Adsense account on 20 April 2022
3. So far the only payment was the £0.30 verification amount
4. Payment of £58 did eventually reach my account on 25 May 2022
...
Was the reason the ads stopped generating income that we did not purchase ads to link to this website?
Google Adsense seems to be an incentive to spend money rather than make it.
